THAILAND
BANGKOK
August 23-26
Bangkok was a layover destination. Cheap flights from SE Asia to the US (about $550 in our case) often depart from Bangkok so we decided to give it a few days. It's known as a hot, humid city full of chaos but for those willing to really jump into it, it is full of incredible experiences. Unfortunately, my experience was food poisoning. I ate plenty of street food on the trip but it wasn't until I had ramen at the restaurant that was the first Michelin starred ramen place in the world that I got food poisoning on the trip. It was not fun.

Needless to say, the food poisoning limited our plans so I feel like I wasn't able to give the city a fair chance. Instead we stayed close to the hotel and just spent our time meandering around by foot. Luckily, malls there are absolutely incredible and there were plenty of them around where we were staying. Not many pictures in this set (you're welcome).

Targhee and Orion went straight back to Seattle from here. She had to get back to work and Orion was really starting to miss home, and especially his cousin Bennett.
