We had our first severely delayed flight on our way to Bali. Apparently, there wasn’t enough traffic going there yet, so flights were being canceled and consolidated. Bali was originally one of our backup destinations, but we ended up adoring our time there. We split our stay between three locations: Nusa Dua, Ubud, and Sidemen. The first stop, Nusa Dua, was purely hotel tourism. Ubud is known as the spiritual and artistic center of Bali—made famous, for better or worse, by the Eat, Pray, Love book. Sidemen is a much more remote area in eastern Bali.
