Dubai was always on the list for a stopover on our round the world journey. I had heard so much about the rapid development of the city, its uniquely metropolitan character with so many expats working there, and their quest to be superlative in so many ways. We knew we wanted to go on a safari into the desert, ski indoors, and journey up the tallest building in the world. Targhee and I also wanted to have a fancy Michelin starred meal. We ate a restaurant that, as of 2024, was ranked 11th in the world and there weren't any other customers there!
